A flea market find, I bought a bone nut from ebay for $7 to make the Pearl River 4-string bass functional again, and I spent $20 for fine, bright D’Addario Chromes roundwound strings and installed them.

I was drawn to the unique look of the Pearl River 4-string bass, but also to the J-bass style straight coil pickups and their sound.

But I’m downsizing to only three basses so I’m selling two off on Craigslist, at least in theory. Everyone says to join FB and sell and buy on Marketplace. Never happen, GI.

This ‘tobacco burst’ color is striking, I thought.

So here is a sample of what a commodity grade Chinese bass ax can sound like, with a bit of chorus, compression, trace reverb.
[Well, I reckon not as I can’t find a way to attach my music file to this post. Or else I’m out of data storage with WordPress. No matter. Trust me, sounds nice. Now buy it.]

Not only that, WordPress informs me I’ve used up most of my 13gz of storage. So unless I buy more data at lots more money my blogging will be limited.
No hurry to decide, I could post text only for years. Or maybe I’ll retire todgermanica.com. Since blogs are as dead as Kelsey’s nuts.
