When AI Hallucinates Military Weapons

I wonder what aircraft the AI ‘thought’ it was depicting. Nose of a B-25 Mitchell bomber; asymmetrical single engine; no tail or landing gear, it’s levitating. Crew is wearing Levi’s?

YouTube is lately infested with all manner of Artificial Intelligence (AI) hallucinations. And why not? YouTube is quite profitable for popular videos.

Here’s what AI ‘thinks’ is a P-47. The landing gear is wrong and so is the canopy. Instead of the Thunderbolt’s 8 x .50cal machine guns the ‘creator’s’ software has equipped it with what appears to be 4 cannons and 12 machine guns. Those are not US uniforms. More holes in it than a moth eaten sweater.

And since AI software is quite cheap, fast and easy to use, that means a YouTube ‘creator’ with absolutely no knowledge of the subject matter can ‘create’ a complete video in next to no time.

‘America’s First Jet Fighter’ had a propeller? Only AI knew. And now people all over the world know. I guess the ‘creator’ never saw a pic of a P-80. Or just didn’t care.

These instant videos are usually as dumb as their ‘creators’, shot full of errors, bullshit and the omnipresent AI hallucinations.

Here’s a real P-80. Which was not the 1st US fighter, that being the P-59. Doesn’t matter, the ‘creator’ got paid. And now we’re all a bit more ignorant and stupid but think we know a fact.
Nose of a P-39 Airacobra, wrong landing gear, wrong canopy, mid-wing instead of low-wing, a fighter with a bomb bay? OK. At least the genius mechanic appears to have 5 fingers, so AI is learning.

Apparently these AI ‘creators’ know nothing about actual historical weapons and are too lazy or stupid to do any research.

And they are unashamed to post utterly idiotic text and wildly twisted images so long as someone clicks on them so they make money. It is a shameless age and the rot starts at the top.

AI loves tri-motor planes. Here it has turned the F6F into a nosewheel plane with two additional Allison V-12 in-line engines from a P-38 Lightning. Bet it’s fast. Except for all the mildew and foliage.
This bogus image looks nothing like a P-38. Side by side canopy on a singleseat plane; mid-fuselage wing location; tri-motor again and all 3 are radials where the actual plane used Allison V-types. The fixed landing gear appears to be bolted directly to the cylinders.
Here we see AI’s love of three engine planes, all over the place. Not a P-51 Mustang as claimed, but instead another three engine Thunderbolt with what looks like a jet engine intake under the belly.
I guess AI loves engines so much it figured if 3 engines on a single engine fighter are good, why not 4 engines? Bet it’s real fast.
I wonder how it destroyed all those Japanese tri-motor planes since the extra engines are where all the guns used to be.
What can I say?

I wonder what these AI slop YouTube creator’s tell mom and dad about the way they make money. Any shame? Any guilt? Mom and pop are probably just glad to have him out of the basement.

Despite the fairly realistic depiction of the P-51 Mustang, the German pilot is flying his Bf 109 fighter while facing the tail! Quite a feat. Those wily nazis.
Again, what can I say? Hilarious.
This is my favorite. This AI YouTube ‘creator’ has not only never seen a Japanese Zero fighter, but apparently has never seen an actual airplane.
It would be difficult to land, inverted on your back, head only centimeters from the runway, then your fin and rudder would be ground off.
This looks nothing at all like a .50cal Browning or any other actual machine gun.
Barrel, muzzle and front sight from an M16 circa 1957. Advanced for WWII. Again, the rifle looks nothing like any actual firearm.
Bogus rifle is not an M2 heavy MG. Looks complex though. Uniform and helmet are not US issue. Or any other country.

These Wehrmacht troops need training. They’re trying to load a machine gun belt into a sci-fi 4-barrel mortar from Star Ship Troopers.
Who knew they had steampunk rifles in WWII?
Sure, easy to delete an entire regiment if you’re using what appears to be a double barrel towed laser cannon. Or else a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.

The doofus in the turtleneck is sure to be AI too. In the popular ‘revenge on the family’ genre. A bonus.

What a fantastic gizmo! So complex. And nothing like the actual ‘crabs’ and ‘flails’ of Hobart’s Funnies. AI is just so imaginative. That Sherman tank must have just come from the car wash. War is so clean.
That must have been a tough shot. Removing the cannon mantlet that protects the gun, then crawling out the hole to hand-hold the 75mm cannon. Greatest generation indeed.
AI went to town on this image. Is it surfaced or submerged? The multiple rudders are where the propellers should be. Huge rivets at the bow. Is it launching a torpedo or is it just glad to see us? If it is submerged it’s in trouble since it seems to leaking out its air.

Well, AI might be a huge job destroyer while perpetuating automated plagerism on a massive scale and relentlessly pumping out co², but it provides us with humor.

And remember, there can be no comedy without stupidity. Thanks AI slop YouTube ‘creators’.

AI and our fascist oligarch owners who own AI might be ending our civilization but at least we’ll have some last laughs.
