Luna Tat Uke Bass

DSC06847
Got this Luna Tat Uke bass weeks back but been too busy playing it to blog about it.

It’s light and compact, tuned to E, A, D, and G like most 4-string basses-but one octave higher in pitch.

DSC06849

Short 20.2″ (513mm) neck. Easy to reach everything.

Nice woody tone, little finger noise from the smooth flatwound metal strings.

DSC06848

Strings are easy to tune and stable. Wide 1 3/4″ synthetic nut.

Volume, EQ (?) and Bass boost controls. As claimed, the higher pitch makes it louder un-amped.
DSC06861
Good tone amped or acoustic only. No amp really needed for practice in quiet spaces.
DSC06863
Nice fit and finish, semi gloss or satin, nicely dark wood veneered headstock. Artistic laser tat carvings.

DSC06855

I like the black tuners.

DSC06865

Walnut fretboard and bridge. Mahogany neck and body.

Downsides: no strap knobs: typical not perfect intonation- E, A and D being flattish and G a bit sharp. No built-in digital tuner.

DSC06868

1st scratch! I’m a clumsy oaf. Side join just visible on right.

I’m stuck on the 12-bar blues and the Luna Tat Uke bass can play it. Good deal at $199 USD with gig bag.
