Tomatoes and Squash This Year

It was large clay pot gardening this year since the tiny poolside plot used last year got cramped and crowded. Hard to find space around a pool and hard to water out there.

Here’s some early shots. I don’t mind dead lawn spots since the grass never grew well here anyway. But it does make mowing the tiny lawn harder.

I do have a tiny battery powered mower though, to get in between pots.

Here’s the gold zucchini.

Easy Pick gold zucchini, Ace, Champion and Super Sweet 100 hybrid cherry tomatoes.

Fertilized with Miracle Grow on planting and then every 3-4 weeks.

Last year’s garden was upper/left, poolside. Tiny and hard to water.

The zucchinis were very tasty. They varied in  color.

Never enough space or support so stakes were added.

Everything came in nicely so no store-bought ‘mators or squash needed.

Usually eaten right off the plant.

These and cottage cheese are a standard breakfast this time of year.

All are very sweet, especially the Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes.

  1. You don’t really need a lot of space or many plants to grow plenty of vegetables either, and the taste beats the store-bought kind every time. Thanks for the comment.
